LaGrange Police have arrested a man on several charges after he was found with Cocaine and Marijuana at a local convenience store. Tuesday evening about 5:36 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit made contact with Marcus Isaih Stephens at the Bay Food Store located on Hamilton Road.
During the contact with Stephens, a drug investigation was initiated and he was found to be in possession of various amounts of illegal drugs in violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. Stephens was also found to have been driving with a suspended license.
Officers seized undisclosed quantities of suspected cocaine and marijuana, which was determined to be a violation of his previous probation release.
As a result, Stephens, age 27, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked into the jail charged with Possession of Cocaine (Felony), Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Driving while License Suspended.
The Georgia Department of Community Supervision also assisted local police with the investigation.
This incident is still under investigation by the La-Grange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
