Revis Street Shooting, Suspect Still At Large Police

LaGrange Police are looking for a suspect accused of shooting a man in the chest during an argument on Revis Street.

Friday afternoon, about 3:27 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the 300 block of Revis Street in reference to reports of gunshots fired in the area.

Police initially received a 911 call indicating that a single gunshot had been heard, along with a scream from a female. Officers then checked the area, but had negative results upon arrival.

About 20 minutes later, police received a call indicating a man had entered the emergency room at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center with a single shot to the chest. Police then went to the ER, where they were able to confirm that both calls were for the same incident.

The victim was later transported to an undisclosed medical facility out of the city for further treatment.

Police say that during the investigation the victim was determined to have gotten into a verbal altercation with a suspect identified as Nay-Chaun Ewing, of Lanett, AL. Investigators believe that Ewing shot the victim a single time in the chest during the altercation before fleeing the scene.

Warrants were later issued for the arrest of Nay-Chaun Ewing for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
