Mary Lee Dollar
Mrs. Mary Lee Dollar, age 78, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Florence Hand Home in LaGrange. Mrs. Dollar was born September 4, 1938, in Hogansville, daughter of the late John and Zetta Mae Payton Howington. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she retired from Playtex International in LaGrange and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She was known to be an outstanding cook and loved to bake, she enjoyed traveling, but her family was the most important part of her life. Survivors include her sons, Bill Dollar, Jr. and his wife Debbie, Craig Dollar and his wife Marilyn, Kevin Dollar, all of Hogansville, and Steve Dollar of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Anniebelle Hendrix of Americus, Lynda Craft of Clayton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy D. Dollar; son, John Murray Dollar; and grandson, Jackson Scott Dollar. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 Friday afternoon. Jill Yvette Cox LaVoie
Mrs. Jill Yvette Cox LaVoie, age 52, of LaGrange, passed away on December 25, 2016 at the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. LaVoie was born in Austell, Georgia on September 25, 1964. Her greatest joy in life was caring for the needs of her family, and she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her father, James and Betty Cox; mother, Sarah Florence; husband, John Richard Philip LaVoie of LaGrange; sons, Christopher Newbern and his wife Lisa of Bremen and Matthew Sprayberry and his wife Carolynn of Raleigh, NC; daughters, Cherise Costley and her husband Stephen of LaGrange and Lindsey Kirkland and her husband Tim of LaGrange; brothers, Jimmy Cox (Terri), Jerry Cox, Brad Lovvorn (Nancy); sisters, Joy Baker, Tammy King (Scott) and Sonia Seay (Ronny); grandchildren, Hannah, Haylee, Payton, K.C., Lyla, Connor, Tristan, MaKenna, Waylon, Colton, Timmy and Hutson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Callaway Baptist Church. Interment followed at the Meadoway Gardens. Mrs. Ellen French, age 89, of LaGrange and a former resident of Dadeville Alabama, passed away early morning December 25, 2016 at Florence Hand Home. Mrs. French was born October 16, 1927 in rural Chambers County Alabama the only child of Curry L. & Alma Smith Moore. She attended Shawmut Elementary School and graduated from Valley (AL) High School class of 1945. She proudly graduated from Massey-Draughn Business School Montgomery Al (1948). She married her Husband, Albert M. (Bud) French on September 11, 1948. During her marriage she and Bert lived in seven states and traveled extensively throughout the world, visiting various countries on five Continents. She was a member of Red Ridge Methodist Church in Dadeville Alabama. She is survived by her four children

Geraldine Barton Herring
Mrs. Geraldine Barton Herring, age 90, of LaGrange, passed away December 27, 2016 at the Florence Hand Nursing Home. Mrs. Herring was born April16, 1926 in Montgomery Alabama the daughter of the late George & Lillian McFarland Barton. She had made her home in LaGrange for the past 55 years. During her working years she worked for and retired from the Belk Department Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Franklin Road Baptist and First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Freeman Herring and Son John Alan Hartley
She is survived by her Son and Daughter in law: Charles and Darlene Herring, LaGrange, GA. Son: Arthur Freeman (Buddy) Herring, Montgomery, AL. Daughter: Jaqueline Coulter. Toledo, OH. Sister and Brother-in-law: Francine & Lamar Thornton, Montgomery, AL. Seven Grandchildren Heather & Husband Joseph Andrews, John Alan (Jake) Jr.& Wife Kim Hartley, Holly McRae, Matthew Hartley, Chelsa Titus & Husband Kyle Titus, Zoe Herring, Ali Herring. Joe H. “Bo” Jordan
Mr. Joe H. “Bo” Jordan, age 84, of LaGrange, GA died peacefully, surrounded by family December 26, 2016 at West Georgia Hospice. Mr. Jordan was born July 9, 1932 in Troup County, GA to the late John Howard and Georgia Belle Jordan. His family was a Colonial Gas Distributor before opening John H. Jordan Motor Company on “Goldstein Hill”. Mr. Jordan began working on and selling automobiles at the early age of 13 up until his recent illness. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Jordan was a member of the VFW, the Georgia Independent Dealers Association, the Moose Club, Elk Club, and the Jaycees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Jordan. He leaves behind to cherish his memories two daughters, Lisa Jordan (Adelaido) Lopez and Angie Jordan (Kenneth) Bradley; grandchildren, Adam Bence, Morgan Bradley Orantes, Ansley (Chase) Rogers, Logan Lopez, Jordan Bradley and Melaney Lopez; great grandchildren, Daniel Orantes, Logan Bence, Bailey Bence, and Brady Rogers; close friend and his children’s mother, Joyce Smith Jordan; sister-in-law, Betty Jordan; niece, Janet Wright; other relatives and friends. The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Friday, December 30, 2016 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Robert “Bobby” Nutile
Mr. Robert “Bobby” Nutile, age 60, of LaGrange, GA died peacefully, surrounded by family December 27, 2016 at his home. Mr. Nutile was born February 6, 1956 in Chelsea, MA to Virginia Nutile and the late Richard Frank Nutile. His passion was all sports; hockey, baseball, and fishing, including Boston Bruins, Boston Redsox and Boston Celtics. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, wife; Teresa Nutile; daughter; Lisa (Adam) Connell; a son, Stephen Nutile; grandchildren, Brennan Connell and Carsyn Connell; mother, Virginia Nutile; two brothers; John Nutile and Alfred Nutile; sister, Angela (John) Kane; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and a faithful companion, his cat “Blu”. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Frank Nutile. The Gathering of Family and friends was held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
