Lawrence Wayne “Larry” Johnson

Lawrence Wayne “Larry” Johnson, age 86, of LaGrange, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. He was born on May 03, 1932 to the late Paul Johnson and Verdie Mae Smith Johnson in LaGrange. Mr. Lawrence loved the outdoors, he loved to dance, and never met a stranger. He worked at Milliken and Company as a Lab Technician. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Stanley Johnson; sisters, Marshal Baxter, Kathryn Beacham. Survivors include his sister, Tina Perryman; nephew, Steve Perryman; niece, Vicki Beacham, Stephanie Busby, Paulet Perryman, Connie Perryman; cousins, Syvil Cole, Glenna Talbert; friends, Carol Payne Sandefur, Marian Payne Dixon, Anita Payne Laney; caregiver, Russell Pilgrim; extended family and friends. Funeral services will be announced after the holidays.



 Linda Anne Strain Shelton

Mrs. Linda Anne Strain Shelton, 74, of LaGrange, GA passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Hospice LaGrange with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Shelton was born November 23, 1944 in LaGrange, GA, daughter of the late William Herschel Strain and Arrie Moore Strain.  She was a longtime member of South Highland Presbyterian Church and volunteered at Twin Fountain Nursing Home.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce Strain and Billy Ray Strain, and her sisters, Dot Bearden, Faye Watts, Mary Horne, and Dean Spurlock. Mrs. Shelton was a loving wife and mother.  She is survived by her husband, Ronald S. Shelton; daughter, Rhonda Shelton (Bill) Shiflet; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 23, 2018 in Shadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Don Ellison officiating.  The gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in memory of Mrs. Linda Strain Shelton.
