Detra B. Crawl-Lindsey
Detra B. Crawl-Lindsey was born April 3, 1969, in Pine Mountain, Georgia to the union of the late Joe Lee and Nettie Lou Gates Crawl; the youngest of twelve children. She professed Christ at an early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Curtis Johnson. Detra graduated from Troup County High School in 1987 and attended The Art Institute of Atlanta. She was employed as Economic Support Specialist 2 with the Georgia Department of Human Resources in the Gwinnett County Department of Family and Children Services office. Dee, as she was also affectionately known, was a fun, loving and caring sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend to many. On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, Detra B. Crawl-Lindsey went to Heaven to be with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, JoAnn Nelson and Lunet Crawl Cofield. She leaves to cherish her memories, brothers: Frank (Judy) Crawl, Philip (Mae) Crawl, Tyrus J. Crawl, Sr. (Kelly Baxter); sisters: Mary L. Dixon, Gail A. Moss, Cynthia (Roosevelt) Trammell, Margaret M. (James) Chaney, Cassandra J. Crawl (Marvin Laye) and Freder R. (Leneire) Lockett; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The Celebration of Life Service were held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. Gregory Turks officiated. Interment followed at the Church Cemetery.
