Sammy Lanier Moore

Sammy Lanier Moore, age 67, of LaGrange, passed away on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 at WellStar West Georgia Hospice. He was born in LaGrange, Georgia on June 7th, 1952 to the late Sam Moore and Agnes Patterson Harris. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, November 8th, 2019 at Higgins LaGrange Chapel from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 starting at 11:00 am at Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Interment will follow at Meadoway Gardens.

Jason Randal Moore

Mr. Jason Randal Moore, 43, of Alexander City, Alabama, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019, at his home. Mr. Moore was born October 2, 1976, in Memphis, TN, son of the late Vivian Washburn Cantrell and William David Cantrell. A resident of Alabama for many years, he was a construction worker. Survivors include his wife, Jessica Moore of Alexander City; his children, William Lucas Randal Moore and Nikkalette Vivianna Moore, both of Alexander City, Ricky Alaina Jones of Roanoke, AL, Braiden Jones and Kalena Rogers of Blount County, TN; his sisters and brothers, Shirley Brimer and her husband Ben of Sharpsburg, Jeremy “Bo” Cantrell and his wife Paige, Jessica Morris and her husband Chris, Tony Cantrell and his wife Elisa, all of Roanoke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Scott Cantrell. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 10, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend T. J. Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Thomas J. “Jack” Watts Sr.

Thomas J. “Jack” Watts, Sr., 80, of LaGrange, GA passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Hospice LaGrange. Mr. Watts was born May 17, 1939 in Albertville, AL, son of the late Union Watts and Annie Mae Martin. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was the owner of Flooring Contracting Services. Mr. Watts proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Higgins. Survivors include his wife, Fran Watts; children, Renita (Stan) Eversole, Thomas Watts, Jr., Robin (Randy) Banks, Lana Heard, and Billy Watts; grandchildren, Rick Heard, Wesley (Ayla) Banks, Paige Heard, Mary Frances (Denver) Wylie, Stanton Eversole, Justin Banks, Laura Frances Banks, and Makaylah Watts; great grandchildren, Ava Harmon, Jaxon Heard, Waylon Heard, and Weston Morris; sister, Brenda (Greg) Cook; and special family friends Noah Berryhill, Jessica Cook, Tim Adams, Brandon Puccio, and Heather Walker. Celebration of Life services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Benefield and Rev. Chris Rumfelt officiating. The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church. The burial, with military honors, will be at 11:00 A.M. (EST) Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church, LaGrange, GA or Freewill Baptist Church, Hayesville, NC in memory of Mr. Thomas J. “Jack” Watts, Sr.

 

John B. Link III

Mr. John B. Link III, 81 of LaGrange, Ga, formerly of Nashville, TN for over 50 years, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Grady Memorial Hospital. Mr. Link was born July 5, 1938 in Waverly, TN to the late John Banks Link, Jr. and the late Rose Comfort Raulston Link. He was a longtime member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN and was very active both personally and professionally in the Nashville community, giving over 6000 Volunteer hours at the VA Hospital. Mr. Link received a Mechanical Engineering Degree and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence Degree during his educational tenure and offered countless hours of “Pro bono publico” through his private practice. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was patriotic to the core. Survivors include his wife, Carol Evans Link; son, J. Banks (Tracy) Link IV of Nashville, TN; daughter, Evans Link (Edwin) Eiler of LaGrange, GA; brother, William R. Link of Orlando, FL; granddaughters, Taylor Griffin Link, Ingram P. Link, and Ellie Grace Eiler; grandson, Edison B. Eiler; other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00am Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Shadowlawn Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Jason Jones officiating. A Memorial Service will be held in Nashville, TN at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of John B. Link III.
