We respectfully announce the passing of Mr. Marshall Rutledge, age 72, of Hogansville, Georgia on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange.Funeral Services was held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 12:30 PM at Springfield Baptist Church, 400 Poplar Street in Hogansville, Georgia. Pastor Collier Starks officiated and Interment followed in the Westview Cemetery. Public viewing was Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Mr. Calvin Whitlock Jr.
Mr. Calvin Whitlock Jr., of LaGrange, passed away on March 17, 2020. He was born on June 28, 1945 in Atlanta to the late Calvin P. Whitlock Sr. and Christine Swofford Whitlock. In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitlock is preceded in death by sons, Calvin Dwayne Whitlock and William Anthony Whitlock.Mr. Whitlock is survived by his daughter, Teresa Lynn Lewis (Bobby); his brother, Donald Whitlock; his previous wife, Vickie Whitlock Moss (Charles); his 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his girlfriend, Becky Mickey; his friends, Dawn Smith and special niece, Renee. Serving the family as pall bearers will be Donald Whitlock, Deanna Johnson, Jimmy Parker, Charles Moss, Kern Mauldin, and John Clark. The funeral service was held at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020. The family received friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until service time on Friday. The committal service directly followed the funeral and was held at Meadoway Gardens in LaGrange.

Mr. Virgil Moss
Mr. Virgil Moss was born April 5, 1954 in Valley, Alabama to the late Thomas and Georgia Moss. He accepted Christ on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at St. Frances Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. On Friday, March 13, 2020; he departed this life at his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Lee Moss; three sisters: Eunice Taylor, Liberta Mangle, and Gloria Marie Bridges; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Moss. Virgil leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Sandy Brooks; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters: Linda Moss and Imogene Moss, both of West Point, GA; Lillian (Bennie) Kimbrough, Milwaukee, WI; two brothers: Clayton (Ruby) Moss, West Point, GA; Eddie Todd, LaGrange, GA; a very special friend, Sandy Spence; two aunts, Louise Walker, Hamilton, GA; and Gladys Houston, West Point, GA; nieces, Tanaya, Sharon, Beverly; nephews, Bernard, Fred, Ervin, and Reginald. The Celebration of Life Service was held Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home. Rev. Ollie Simpson will officiated. Interment will followed at Southview Cemetery.
Lillian Cannon Knight
Lillian Cannon Knight was born on September 27, 1957, in Troup County to the late Maggie L. “Sal” Cannon. She accepted Christ at an early age and remained an active and faithful member of the Burks Chapel United Methodist Church. Lillian served God, church and the community through various capacities including choir president and United Methodist Women’s. Lillian is a graduate of Troup County Schools, graduating from Troup High School, Class of 1975. Shortly after, she met and married Alvin L. Knight in 1979. She was employed by Milliken & Company where she worked diligently for many years at both the Duncan Stewart and Kex Plants. Her love and compassion for people would also lead her to a career in nursing where she passionately cared for the many of the residents of the Brain Nursing Center. Lillian was a member of The Union Benevolent Aid Society, District #9 where she served as President from 2007- 2020. Lillian also was active with the Grandparent’s Raising Grandkids and attended Troup County Senior Center. In her later years, she found her love for cooking, enjoyed sharing her favorite dishes, and eating! She was also known for her affection for children and her “concerning” spirit. She departed this earthly life on March 14, 2020. In addition to her mother, Maggie; she was preceded in death by her three sisters: Juanita Cannon, Mary Alice Cannon, and Bertha Stamps; three brothers: Leon Cannon, Levon Cannon, and Robert Cannon. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Maurita Wheat, Latasha Knight and Bertha Knight; one granddaughter that she reared, Destiny Knight; one brother, George (Earnestine) Cannon; one sister, Magline Gilbert; one aunt, Lizzie Cannon; she is also survived by her three nieces, Nita Gilbert, Shamonica Cannon, and Yolanda Cannon; four nephews, Gerry (Augusta) Cannon, Samuel (Chitinia) Cannon, Eric Stamps, and Jason Gilbert; five great nieces , Sherie Ransom, Krishondra Miles, Shae Stamps, Janiya Cannon, and Stella Stamps; four great nephews, Terrance Cannon, Deshawn Cannon, Trayvon Willis, and Jaylen Cannon; she leaves several special friends, Kenneth Jackson, Sammie Gilbert, Conchita Dent, Georgia Fletcher, Saundra Barnes, and Gloria Houston; and a host of other relatives and friends. The Celebration of Life Service was Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Burks Chapel U M Church. Pastor Brandon Fletcher and Rev. John Thompkins officiated.
Martin Paul Noles
Martin Paul Noles, age 74, of Lagrange, passed away on March 13, 2020 at his residence. He was born on August 23, 1945 to the late Dorothy Ann White Noles. He worked at Golden City for 25 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea Washington Noles; parents, Alvin Bill Noles and Sara White Noles, brother, John White. Survivors include his son, Marc Noles; daughter, Kimberly Wingo; step kids, Derrick Brownlow and his spouse, Stacy Chamblee – Brownlow, and Jestin Millians; grandchildren, Bryanna Wingo and her spouse, Tyler Leatherwood, Zac Wingo and his spouse, Felicity Corn, Wayne Wingo and his spouse, Shannon, and Bradley Puckett; great grandchildren, Addison, Kenzlee, James, Zeke, Zay, Zain, Easton, Kai, Kam and Alayah; special family, Jimmy Hunt, Tracy Puckett, Damin Eaton, Destiny Eaton, Clayton and Teresa Eaton; K-9 companions, Chance, Liberty, and Taz; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Graveside services was held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Meadowbrook Memory Garden in Villa Rica. Family gathered at the graveside before the service.
