Warrants Issued for Shooting Suspect
LaGrange Police are looking for a man who allegedly shot another male late Friday night during a dispute.
Friday night about 10:41 p.m., officers with the La-Grange Police Department responded to the 900 block of South Parkway in reference to reports of subject who had been shot.
Police were later advised though 911 that the male victim had been taken to the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center via a private vehicle.
The victim was later interviewed at the Emergency Room and he indicated that he had been shot during disagreement with Cornelius Potts. The victim advised that during the disagreement, Potts pointed a firearm at him and shot him once in the lower abdomen.
Police say the incident was witnessed by a female who was on scene.
After shooting the victim, Potts reportedly fled the scene with the gun, possibly on foot.
The victim was subsequently transported to an Atlanta area hospital for further treatment.
LaGrange Police have since secured arrest warrants for the arrest of Potts for Aggravated Assault with a Gun, Possession of a Firearm during a Violent Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
