This month the city partnered with Berta Weathersbee Elementary.

Several other groups participated in today’s cleanup including First Presbyterian Church, Smyrna Baptist Church & Heart to Heart.

For next month’s litter pickup, the city will partner with Berta Weathersbee Elementary. The event will be Saturday, August 24th from 8-10 a.m. at Berta Weathersbee Elementary School, 1200 Forrest Avenue.

All of the city’s litter pickup events are free and open to the public.

The City of LaGrange celebrated its one year anniversary in April since beginning its “Leaving LaGrange Better Than We Found It” litter cleanup campaign. Friday, April 26th, 2019 hundreds of city employees as well as dozens of citizens spent the morning picking up litter throughout the city’s main thoroughfares.

City Manager Meg Kelsey began this litter cleanup campaign in April 2018 hoping to send a message to the community that the City of LaGrange is serious about cleaning up our community.

This initial event was so successful the city decided to begin hosting monthly litter pickups.
