The Board of Commissioners later approved a lifting of the hiring freeze to add four Road Maintenance Workers to the roads department. County Engineer James Emery advised that the need for workers has become a significant hindrance to the productivity of the department and the workload has significantly increased due to recent flooding.
The commissioners also signed off on lifting the hiring freeze to replace a part-time convenience center worker who recently resigned due to health reasons.
